VOLUNTEER
Interested in Volunteering?
When you volunteer with Pet Community Center, you’re giving one of the greatest gifts of all — your time! We strive to end pet homelessness and keep pets in their loving homes.

Volunteers are an integral part of the work we do. The time you spend with us allows us to:

  • Provide accessible veterinary care and support services to local pets and community cats.

  • Operate a high-volume, low-cost spay/neuter clinic.

  • Partner with Metro Animal Care and Control and local rescue groups to decrease shelter intake and euthanasia rates.

  • Tackle barriers to veterinary care in zip codes with the highest rates of pet homelessness.

Volunteer Guidelines & Requirements

Age limit:

  • Volunteers under the age of 18 must have a parent/guardian's permission to volunteer with us. Parent/guardian supervision is required for volunteers under the age of 16.

Time commitment and community service:

  • We ask that volunteers commit to spending at least 20 hours in a 6-month time span volunteering with us.

  • We do accept volunteers who need to fulfill community service requirements and court-ordered volunteers for non-violent offenses. However, those opportunities are limited and not guaranteed to always be available.

Waiver and safety:

  • All volunteers must sign a safety liability release waiver and review our volunteer orientation. Volunteers must also take part in training specific to each position.
