We want to end pet homelessness. And we believe it can be done. Keeping pets and people together is the key.
We’ve researched what is working in communities where 90% of shelter animals are being saved – and we believe we can achieve the same result in Nashville.
The first step is a robust and accessible spay + neuter program. That’s why we opened Nashville’s first low-cost spay + neuter clinic in 2014.
We also know that lack of access to affordable veterinary care is one of the top reasons that pet owners relinquish their pet to a shelter. So we launched our pet wellness clinic in 2015. Our mobile clinic takes basic veterinary care into the zip codes with the highest rates of pet homelessness.
And we’re celebrating the results! Since we started our work in 2011, the number of pets entering the shelter each year has fallen by half. We reach more than 14,000 dogs and cats per year, thanks to generous donations from pet lovers like you!
Our clinics are operated by professional, caring and trained staff. We hope you’ll come visit us!
