Pet Community Center
Who We Are
Pet Community Center is a nonprofit on a mission to make high-quality spay/neuter and veterinary care affordable and accessible to all pet owners. We manage a high quality spay/neuter surgery center in East Nashville and a Mobile Wellness clinic that provides basic wellness care to pets in underserved areas.
Since 2011, Pet Community Center has served more than 40,000 animals.
Who We Need
Pet Community Center believes that people love their pets and want the best for them. We exist to serve and share information with pet owners in a non-judgmental, respectful way. We are looking for compassionate individuals that share that belief and who are motivated by serving underserved people and their pets.
Pet Community Center is seeking candidates who are passionate about helping animals and people for the position of Pets for Life Community Organizer.
The Pets for Life (PFL) program reaches out to people in underserved communities to extend free pet care resources, services, and information. The PFL model incorporates strategic door-to-door outreach, builds a consistent community presence, and uses an extensive follow-up process to build solid relationships and trust within a segment of the pet-owning population that has largely gone untouched by animal service providers.
The Pets for Life program serves Antioch, providing access to free spay/neuter, vaccinations and basic veterinary care. Bilingual (Spanish-English) candidates are strongly preferred.
40% of time will be spent on proactive outreach – meaning door to door outreach and forming relationships with pet owners and explaining the program.
20% of time will be spent on reactive outreach – calling (potential) clients that were identified during field work, and follow up with clients who have used our services
15% of time will be spent assisting in surgery.
15% of time will be spent maintaining a database of clients served and other administrative duties.
10% of time will be spent transporting pets to spay/neuter appointments (driving a cargo van)
